Golf Getaways

For Golfers & Non-Golfers Alike

We just can’t think of a better way to enjoy a few days of golf and discover some wonderful Western Australian wines and food, than to combine them into a single program. Even if some members of your group are non-golfers, our hand crafted itineraries will allow everyone to enjoy each day. While the golfers play 18 holes in the morning, we’ll plan a parallel program for the non-golfers. And afterward, everyone can enjoy a nice lunch together and explore some of the features of the area.

Some of the courses we recommend include Secret Harbour, Bunbury, Sanctuary Golf Resort, Capel, Busselton, Margaret River and Albany. In our opinion, these are among the best regional courses in Western Australia. You’ll be away from the crowds amidst breathtaking countryside, enjoying gourmet food, local wine and the company of your friends.

Wildflower Safaris

Western Australian Wildflowers are world renowned for their stunning beauty and uniqueness. The best time for viewing tends to be from August (our late winter) until December. The winter season determines what is best for wildflowers in spring.

We love exploring this wonderful aspect of nature, from day trips around the Margaret River area to longer trips further afield. On past private tours, our guests have found flowers all over Southwestern Australia.

Some of our favorite places to visit include: Leeuwin Naturaliste National Park, Cane Brake Pool, Beedelup National Park, Shannon National Park, Fitzgerald River National Park, Walpole Nornaup National Park, Stirling Range National Park, Kalbarri Naional Park and more!

We are licensed by the Conservation authorities to conduct nature-based tours in National Parks and Conservation areas throughout the State of Western Australia. Join us and be assured that our travels are responsible, fun and informed.

Local Art

Small private art galleries flourish in Margaret River and adjoining areas of the south west. There are more than 40 artists living and working in the Margaret River Capes Region. Art in glass, canvas, timber, photography, textiles, abound. There may well be things that you fall in love with.

Food & Wine Education Classes

Margaret River is the perfect location for discovery of the gentle art of gourmet chefs and winemakers. Take a day to learn, explore and discover new food and wine sensations. With our local knowledge and guided wine expertise, we can show you the best wines, the best value, and the best food experiences.

Our Local Expertise

Like you, we respond to a number of clues about how well we regard a wine, including depth and complexity, length of finish and the ultimate measure – balance. Some of our favourites include:

We are guided by (but not obedient to) hallmark expertise. In that regard, we reference James Halliday’s Australian Wine Companion, and we also follow Ray Jordan’s commentary, but we spend a lot of time researching wine ourselves so that we can deliver an experience to remember.

The Program

Our leaning is towards learning in a fun light hearted way. We can introduce you to the topics of:

Vineyards & Wine Making

Wine Rankings, Varieties & Styles

Wine Buying & Value

Food & Wine Matching

Like all our tours, ‘Learning about Wine’ is private. There are optional elements within the tour (eg the food and wine matching at Cape Mentelle). You have the opportunity to omit some aspects. Let us know what suits you.

Cape to Cape Walks

The Cape to Cape Track is acknowledged as one of the best hiking trails in Australia. It runs 130km along the spectacular western shore of the Margaret River wine region. While the track is open to all hikers, we take a careful approach to curating your private experience. Logistics are our specialty and we tend to every last detail, from your arrival to planning walk segments and packed lunches, to organizing daily transport and suitable accommodation for the duration of your stay.

Tour Fitness, Comfort & Safety

You don’t need to be an athlete to hike the Cape to Cape Track, but walking fitness is required. We suggest a regular walk schedule that slowly builds up to the point that you can walk at a good clip for an hour or more without feeling sore or out of breath, several times a week.

Aside from being fit enough to walk the track, there is no ‘roughing it’ when it comes to our private tours. If you’ve outgrown the urge to hike with a heavy backpack, we provide fully supported walks where you carry just a lunch pack and a water bottle. To guide you throughout your journey, we’ll also brief you on the day’s walk segment and provide you with helpful maps – though the trail is marked.

Each day we will bring you to the start of your walk and meet you at the end. Then we’ll take you to your accommodation in down town Margaret River, where you can enjoy a hot bath, easy access to shops and restaurants, and an opportunity for a nice dinner and a bottle of wine to share with friends. When the day finishes, you can settle in for a comfortable, refreshing sleep.

When you walk the Cape to Cape Track, your program will be tailored to meet your specific needs and preferences so that you can experience our beautiful coastline on your terms. Our goal is to plan every detail so that you can concentrate on enjoying your walk and having a safe, memorable and fun trip.

Our ‘Cape to Cape’ package includes transport, guidance and fun. Check it out!

On the Water

Explore Our Rivers & Oceans

The Margaret River region can be an ideal place to enjoy life on the water. From snorkeling and fishing in the tranquil inshore waters to kayaking down the nearby Blackwood River (one of our favourite places to spend a day on the water), you can find both excitement and relaxation.

Kayaking, Swimming & Snorkeling

Our ‘Discover Margaret River’ tour includes time at the ocean. Optional activities include Kayak on the Blackwood River and swimming and snorkelling at Hamelin Bay. Both are options and are weather dependant.
