Our Favorite Tour Activities & Things to Do
For Golfers & Non-Golfers Alike
We just can’t think of a better way to enjoy a few days of golf and discover some wonderful Western Australian wines and food, than to combine them into a single program. Even if some members of your group are non-golfers, our customized itineraries will allow everyone to enjoy each day. While the golfers play 18 holes in the morning, we’ll plan a parallel program for the non-golfers. And afterward, everyone can enjoy a nice lunch together and explore some of the features of the area.
Some of the courses we recommend include Secret Harbour, Bunbury, Sanctuary Golf Resort, Capel, Busselton, Margaret River and Albany. In our opinion, these are among the best regional courses in Western Australia. You’ll be away from the crowds amidst breathtaking countryside, enjoying gourmet food, local wine and the company of your friends.
Sample Golf Tour Itinerary
Golf near Perth – late lunch – drive to Bunbury – overnight at Sanctuary Golf Resort.
Golf at Sanctuary – lunch & wine exploration in Ferguson Valley – drive to Margaret River – check in to accommodation.
Golf in Margaret River – lunch at Leeuwin Estate.
Golf recovery day – walk part of the Cape to Cape Track or embark on a wine discovery – relax with a long lunch.
Golf at Busselton or Capel course – explore the Geographe Bay wines – lunch.
Back to Perth via Fremantle for lunch – fly out of Perth.
Slightly longer trips can bring you further into the south west to include an overnight in Albany and golf at the beautiful links course.
EXPLORE NATURAL WESTERN AUSTRALIA
Western Australian Wildflowers are world renowned for their stunning beauty and uniqueness. The best time for viewing tends to be from August (our late winter) until December. The winter season determines what is best for wildflowers in spring.
We love exploring this wonderful aspect of nature, from day trips around the Margaret River area to longer trips further afield. On past private tours, our guests have found flowers all over Southwestern Australia.
Some of our favorite places to visit include: Leeuwin Naturaliste National Park, Cane Brake Pool, Beedelup National Park, Shannon National Park, Fitzgerald River National Park, Walpole Nornaup National Park, Stirling Range National Park, Kalbarri Naional Park and more!
We are licensed by the Conservation authorities to conduct nature-based tours in National Parks and Conservation areas throughout the State of Western Australia. Join us and be assured that our travels are responsible, fun and informed.
Cape to Cape Walks
The Cape to Cape Track is acknowledged as one of the best hiking trails in Australia. It runs 130km along the spectacular western shore of the Margaret River wine region. While the track is open to all hikers, we take a careful approach to curating your private experience. Logistics are our specialty and we tend to every last detail, from your arrival to planning walk segments and packed lunches, to organizing daily transport and suitable accommodation for the duration of your stay.
Tour Fitness, Comfort & Safety
You don’t need to be an athlete to hike the Cape to Cape Track, but walking fitness is required. We suggest a regular walk schedule that slowly builds up to the point that you can walk at a good clip for an hour or more without feeling sore or out of breath, several times a week.
Aside from being fit enough to walk the track, there is no ‘roughing it’ when it comes to our private tours. If you’ve outgrown the urge to hike with a heavy backpack, we provide fully supported walks where you carry just a lunch pack and a water bottle. To guide you throughout your journey, we’ll also brief you on the day’s walk segment and provide you with helpful maps – though the trail is marked.
Each day we will bring you to the start of your walk and meet you at the end. Then we’ll take you to your accommodation in down town Margaret River, where you can enjoy a hot bath, easy access to shops and restaurants, and an opportunity for a nice dinner and a bottle of wine to share with friends. When the day finishes, you can settle in for a comfortable, refreshing sleep.
When you walk the Cape to Cape Track, your program will be tailored to meet your specific needs and preferences so that you can experience our beautiful coastline on your terms. Our goal is to plan every detail so that you can concentrate on enjoying your walk and having a safe, memorable and fun trip.
Depending on your preferences, your program might include:
9 days 8 nights – 6 days of walking without a heavy pack
Transport between Margaret River and Perth in a comfortable Mercedes mini-coach
Luxury apartment-style accommodation in the heart of Margaret River
An Opening Night Dinner for Your Private Group
A copy of ‘The Cape to Cape Guide Book’
Daily ‘walk lunches’
Daily transport to and from the Track
A lovely ‘Celebration day’ at the end of the walk, including a long lunch at a leading winery restaurant
On the Water
Explore Our Rivers & Oceans
The Margaret River region can be an ideal place to enjoy life on the water. From snorkeling and fishing in the tranquil inshore waters to kayaking down the nearby Blackwood River (one of our favourite places to spend a day on the water), you can find both excitement and relaxation.
We have our own small dinghy, licensed and in survey. Seating 5, it’s safe, stable and the perfect way to enjoy a beautiful day on the Blackwood, the largest river in the southern half of Western Australia. After some basic tuition, we’ll provide you with a map, a picnic basket and a bottle of wine – a fishing line if you want one – and away you go!
Fishing & Snorkeling
If you are more interested in exploring the ocean, the dinghy can take you to some beautiful calm inshore waters in the region for a spot of fishing, snorkelling or just enjoying the experience of discovery in a small boat.
If you prefer to paddle around your own piece of paradise, we have single-person kayaks available to explore some of the safest and most tranquil areas of the Blackwood River. It’s the perfect way to combine a beautiful tranquil river with a ‘posh picnic’ and some Margaret River wine.
