The spectacular Margaret
River Wine Region welcomes travellers from around the world like no
other destination in Australia. A comfortable three-hour drive south of
Perth, it is an enticing combination of pristine natural wonders,
premium wineries, fine restaurants, unique arts & crafts, dazzling
beaches, and spectacular forests. Blessed with a perfect Mediterranean
maritime climate, the four seasons are gently defined in this relaxed
and peaceful corner of the country.
From the tranquil waters of Geographe Bay in the north, down the
ancient cave-carved Leeuwin-Naturaliste Ridge, through the picturesque
vineyards and karri forest of the heartland, to the desolate beauty of
Cape Leeuwin in the south, this is a place of splendid natural
contrasts.
Here the southern seasons are gently defined, and nature radiates a
deep vitality. The ocean forms the life rhythms of the land between the
capes, its many moods governing everything from the perfect climate to
the subtle nuances of another world-beating vintage.
Artists and crafts people find our spirit of place and convivial
atmosphere inspirational, so Margaret River is a focal point for those
who must create. The aesthetic urge also animates our winemakers and
chefs, so a Margaret River odyssey is invariably a connoisseur’s
delight.
